Whew. Finally got that sorted out. Fortunately, Grumpy's has a side room that can be reserved and doesn't require minimums or a rental fee. I've sent out a new email, but details are below the cut if you're looking for 'em here.

Edit: I went with Grumpy's. No minimum, no rental fee, side room with a door that closes.
So, the plans for having the bachelorette at the Chatterbox are imperiled.
susanofstohelit, who was arranging the reservation, was only recently told that for a group our size to reserve a space, they required a minimum catering pre-order that's actually kinda large. And we weren't planning on really ordering dinner, let alone either one of us fronting that much.
So now it'll either be moved to a) another bar/restaurant that allows groups that large to reserve space without pre-ordering everything, or b) somebody's house, probably mine.
And of course, the person who was organizing this is now going out of the country, so I've gotta pick up and plan it. (Before I was only inviting folks.)
Quick--what bar/restaurants in St. Paul/Minneapolis (ideally Minneapolis) have a large space for a group of 25+, like a party room, that doesn't have a catering minimum.

Edited to change the location to Grumpy's.
Advance notice for thosenon-males who are friends of
chesh! Her bachelorette will be a laid-back evening at the Chatterbox (St. Paul location) Grumpy's in downtown Minneapolis on August 1st, beginning about 7 PM. The bride to be has requested "a nice evening of beers and conversation and general geekery." And games.
1. Bring gifts! It's a bachelorette party!
2. Bring games!
3. Somebody bring a copy of Munchkin (the game) and let me know that they're doing so, so
chesh doesn't kick me out of the bridal party.
4. RSVP
RSVPs ASAP are important, because we can only reserve an entire room for ourselves if we get enough people.
I'm waiting to send out the email invite until I get a partial list from
chesh, to make sure I don't forget anybody too many people.
And the bachelorette herself pretty much planned what she wanted, so I'm not trying to keep it a "secret" from her, 'cause that would be silly.
